ProInspire Fellow Role Overview:
Opportunity Fund seeks a highly detail-oriented self-starter to provide critical data management support for the Development team. Reporting to the Development Operations Manager, the Data Assistant will support and advance the goals of the Development team by researching, entering, maintaining, analyzing, and reporting on data in the CRM system and ensuring the integrity of that data.

This position requires an individual who can learn and comprehend a complex database with highly detailed policies and procedures.  Applicants should have demonstrated aptitude, experience and success with technology and data management, and have a commitment to using accurate data to support team success.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high attention to detail, the ability to prioritize and multitask, and the capacity to work independently. In addition, the Data Assistant should have strong interpersonal skills, enjoy collaborating with colleagues to understand data needs, and be ready to manage and provide useful business intelligence. The ideal candidate will be curious, thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, and be enthusiastic about the critical role of philanthropy in furthering Opportunity Fund’s mission.
 
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
 
Responsibilities:
  • Create update, and maintain contacts and accounts for donors, prospects and corporations in CRM system, including researching and maintaining biographical information as needed. Develop and improve data entry and maintenance processes.
  • Accurately enter daily receipt of grants, gift checks, and online donations, including running regular reports to confirm data.
  • Generate analytics for outreach and engagement activities; populate the Development/Communications dashboard to inform goals and strategic direction and support benchmarking activities.
  • Enter, track, and generate reports for event registration and participation.
  • Support list creation, merge, and distribution of mailings including acknowledgments and yearend tax statements.
  • Maintain data/list hygiene through routine clean-up and audits.
  • Develop, document, and update Development Operations database procedures as required.
  • Provide project coordination and support as part of a growing team pursuing ambitious growth goals.
  • Complete various administrative tasks as needed.
 
Qualifications: 
  • A minimum of two years' experience in an administrative and or operations position, preferably in a not-for-profit environment.
  • Interest and aptitude in data, metrics, analysis, and trends required; applied knowledge of measurement, statistics and program evaluation preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Excel and Powerpoint) and experience with a fundraising/CRM database (Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and successfully manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • A high attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with an eye for presenting and communicating information concisely and cleanly.
