ProInspire Fellow Role Overview:
  • Provide and facilitate marketing and communications support for GII’s grant-funded mission work
  • Support Innovate Communications and Public Affairs department, programs and partnerships with project management activities.
  • Provide continual analysis of practices and processes within the Communications and Public Affairs department and make recommendations for improvements
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
MarComm Support for grant-funded programs
  • Assist with the development of marketing/communications plans for grant-funded programs, including all aspects of public relations, digital/mobile and marketing.
  • Support development of marketing and communications materials and services to support the implementation of grant-funded programs throughout the membership including press materials, and marketing materials. Provide assistance to members.
  • Coordinate promotion of grants, including national and local media attention, and community relations support
  • Create external videos as needed with support from the communications team.
  • Liaise between Strategy and Advancement and MarComm Teams to plan and deliver necessary marketing and communications materials and assets to successfully implement grant-funded programs .
Innovate Communicate Educate (ICE) Administration
  • Assist the DGR, Marketing, Communications and International Development team members in the planning process for the annual events; collaborating with other departments that manage and participate in the event. Provide support for additional GII events as requested.
  • Monitor the relevant communities on MyGoodwill. Post contributing department articles and blogs to MyGoodwill. Assist in maintaining the relevant community pages and documents libraries. Provide MyGoodwill site assistance to team members and Goodwill members as requested.
  • Provide software application assistance (training and support) to team members as requested.
  • Act as department lead/liaison for supported areas (IT Department, Accounting Department, Legal/Contracts Department, member-focused software applications and MSC-sponsored groups).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Direct Support for Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President of Global Development as needed.
  • Assists with special projects including preparation of presentation materials using Project, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, advanced features of Word and Excel and other software and presentation platforms
  • b. Compile and provide departmental status reports to the CMO & SVP of Global Development
  • a. This may include prioritizing and executing complex workload of correspondence (primarily electronic), telephone calls, including sensitive and/or confidential information; managing, updating and maintaining calendar appointments and meetings, setting up conference calls, making intricate travel arrangements and managing social media platforms for the CMO & SVP of Global Development. Preparing e-books and setting up filing system.
  • Also may include managing and administering departmental budgets including examining contracts, invoices/check requests, and expense reports requiring CMO & SVP of Global Development and the VP of Leadership and Learning.
Internal: Frequent, daily contact with staff across all departments, including the donated goods retail, strategy and advancement, and mission teams for information exchange, consultation, collaboration, and coordination on projects.
GII Members: Frequent contact with Goodwill organizations including CEOs and staff who support program operations, external communications, and/or serve as subject matter experts. •
Outside: Regular contact with board members, vendors, general public, news media, outside businesses, and partners, including cause partners and nonprofit organizations.

EUCATION: Equivalent combination of education and experience in project management and administrative support required. Bachelor’s degree preferred in journalism, marketing, communications or related field.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five years of experience in program administration support, project management or equivalent type of work preferred.
DECISION MAKING: Ability to work independently and make decisions aligned with general guidance. Ability to prioritize work based on deadlines, objectives and priorities. Understanding of conceptual decision making.
SUPERVISION: General - Latitude is given to determine approaches, procedures and methodologies for accomplishing the work. Work is reviewed to assure that it is conceptually sound and meets assignment objectives.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Light. Lifting – 20 lbs. maximum. Requires sitting at a computer terminal the majority of the time. Some travel required.
EMOTIONAL EFFORT: Occasional short deadlines (with little or no notice) and work after hours. Work environment sometimes hectic with occasional periods of high stress.
