ProInspire is seeking a full-time Marketing and Communications Associate to provide support for the organization, its programs and initiatives, with a particular emphasis on digital marketing and communications. The ideal candidate brings eagerness to be on the ground of a dynamic organization that is changing how the sector views talent and how individuals view their careers, and a readiness to take on ownership of meaningful marketing and communications projects.

The Marketing and Communications Associate will report to ProInspire’s Communications Director, and partner with staff based in Washington, D.C. and vendors who work virtually.
 
What are the responsibilities of this role?
The Marketing and Communications Associate will assume the following responsibilities:
Digital Marketing (50%)
Employ understanding of best practices and trends to plan, generate content for, and execute multi-channel digital communications that reflect ProInspire’s brand and mission and deliver on marketing and communications goals.
  • Manage ongoing web content updates and site iterations as needed (in partnership with web developer)
  • Work with ProInspire team and outside agency/consultant to successfully launch new website that aligns with defined goals and objectives for improved site content, flow, and SEO
  • Manage social media, including editorial calendar development, optimization of current platforms, and expansion to new platforms
  • Oversee ProInspire blog, engaging team members, fellows, and alumni for content creation
  • Manage email communications, including content development, execution, analysis, list maintenance
  • Manage SEO efforts, including development of web content; improved usage of Google AdWords grant; and ongoing analysis and revision
  • Monitor and evaluate digital communications KPIs, and identify areas for improvement for deeper reach and engagement with target audiences

Program-Specific Marketing and Communications (30%)
  • Partner with ProInspire Program Managers to identify needs and opportunities for program-related marketing and communications support across multiple touchpoints
  • Generate content and manage development process for revised and new program-related promotional materials
  • Gather testimonials and other assets for use in promoting our programs
 
Team Engagement and General MarComm Support (20%)
  • Support Communications Director, CEO, and Development Director with occasional content development needs (e.g. articles, external blog posts, presentations, infographics, conference proposals) and support for events and initiatives in which ProInspire participates
  • Develop and implement an asset management system to improve efficiency in storage and retrieval of assets used in marketing and communications
  • Serve as MarComm internal consultant to offer point of view to team on marketing and communications where appropriate
  • Participate in weekly check-ins with Communications Director, team meetings, retreats, etc.
 
What we are looking for

Desired skills and experience include:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a marketing, communications, or writing-related discipline
  • At least 2 years of full-time work experience in a marketing or communication role, preferably with an emphasis on digital channels
  • Ability to be creative in developing concepts and maximizing resources to achieve results
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and work streams, working both independently and collaboratively to maintain a high level of productivity
  • Integrity, humility, resilience, and a passion for ProInspire’s mission
     
A few other nice-to-haves:
  • Experience with ProInspire’s chosen tools and platforms (e.g. Wordpress; Google Analytics, Google AdWords and other G-Suite tools; Salesforce; MailChimp)
  • Experience with design/creative tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and HTML/CSS coding

Position Details
Salary: This is a salaried position with a preferred two-year commitment. Starting salary for the first year will range from $45-50k and will be commensurate with experience. 
Start Date: Target start date is mid- to late-August.
Location: Our office is located in the MakeOffices co-working space in Clarendon (3100 Clarendon Blvd, Suite #200, Arlington, VA 22201). It is located on top of the Clarendon Metro stop on the Orange and Silver Line. The office features an expansive community area, tons of natural light, treadmill desks, a relaxation room (with massage chairs), and more.
