The Strategy, Communications, and Innovation Department seeks a Strategy & Corporate Development Analyst who can contribute broadly in the following ways: Collects, manages, and analyzes data from the external competitive market and from within the organization to develop and drive analyses and make recommendations that support business needs. Provides financial analysis and monthly budget reports for department leadership. Evaluates, models, and makes recommendations on corporate development opportunities.  
 
Accountabilities
 
Strategy:
  • Provides and delivers strategic data analysis, insights and presentations to senior leadership.
  • Identifies, cultivates and analyzes qualitative and quantitative data in the external competitive market as well as from within the organization (e.g. financials) to support business needs.
  • Contributes to improving systems, processes and tools particularly as they enhance the vision of data analytics, innovation, social impact investing and/or strategy development.
Finance:
  • Monitors monthly budget reports, prepares and leads budget review meetings with department leadership.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact with finance and prepares the annual budget request in partnership with the senior members of the Strategy and Communications teams.
  • Leads financial analyses requested by department leadership.
  • Oversees finance workflow and provides guidance in the following areas: invoices, consultant contracts; new employee requisitions; memberships and sponsorships; other as requested.
Corporate Development:
  • Researches and analyzes industries, market segments, and business models. Evaluates the merits of alternatives and presents findings to executive management.
  • Evaluates potential corporate development opportunities (e.g. by providing strategic due diligence, financial statement analyses, financial modeling, and returns analyses) and monitors existing strategic initiatives.

Applied Knowledge & Skills
  • Working knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of strategic analysis. Includes the ability to understand a business problem or question, develop and drive analyses, address the key issues, and communicate the recommendation through a compelling storyline.
  • Strong modeling skills, e.g. financial and operational reporting, valuation methodologies, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information to and interact with senior management.
  • Demonstrated computer skills with Microsoft software and programs.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff, especially senior executives.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with highly confidential and proprietary information.
Experience**
  • Typically requires 2-5 years of experience with market research, business/financial analysis, and project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative data research and analysis.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
  • Prior experience working in investment banking, corporate development, venture capital, management consulting, or corporate strategy is preferred.

  • Contributes to business and operational decisions that affect the department.
  • Reports to the Director of the Strategy, Communications, and Innovation Department.

Personal Computer, Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), e-mail, telephone, printer, calculator, copier, cell phones, PDAs and other hand held devices.

Typical office environment. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; ability to lift 5-50 lbs.
 
Education**
 Bachelor's Degree or its International Equivalent • Business Administration, Finance, or Related
Field.
